Inadequate Signage

This was the only sign put up to tell drivers not to turn left into a Bus lane. It was facing 90 degrees to the traffic. No wonder it has been turned round and two other signs added. Surely our Cabinet Member Tahir Ali should have realised it was ineffective when 18,000 journeys in a day took cars past it? A total of 60,000 people were ticketed and although 42,000 people paid up another 18,000 were vindicated at appeal, when the fines were quashed. What about the pensioners who were caught and could not afford to pay the extra £30 they were threatened with? They will have to pay says Councillor Ali because of their presumed admitted guilt caused by paying. This is inequitable! No wonder the signs have gone up opposite the Jekyll and Hyde pub. Seems like the new City rulers to a “T”
